PiXel Check

It will find your dead pixels but it can't fix 'em, but beggars can't be choosers. PiXel Check is free. I've never had problems with dead pixels, but it seems like a good idea to look for them when you get your hands on an LCD screen. If the problem is bad enough, it can be grounds for exchanging a new display.
