Hi all Link staffers,
We are doing something new for Kathryn Binovi's going away party, and I need everyone's help. I want to make the video equivalent of a card that we would give to Kathryn. So I want to get nice thoughts and reflections from the staff about Katherine. I plan to make a video that will play on a TV screen during the party. On the screen will be text with messages from Kathryn's co-workers (that's you!).
Please try your best to think of something unique to say to Kathryn--it would be nice not to have 10 messages that just said "We'll miss you" and "Good luck." Also try to keep it shortish, as the type will have to be pretty big to be legible. Feel free to recycle these messages in any actual physical card.
To make it easier for people not to duplicate each other's messages, I'm encouraging people to write out their thoughts as comments on this blog post. Please make sure to write your name at the end of your comments. To make a comment, click on the "Post a Comment" link at the bottom of this post. You don't have to log in to post a comment--just select anonymous option on the page where you write your post. But again, remember to write your name in the message.
If you are receiving this message in an email, follow the link to go to my blog where you can post your messages to Kathryn.
Thanks!
Matt

Kathryn, We will miss your calmness at the center of this endless storm...Good luck, Evelyn
Thanks for your patience with me, your New York colleague, for all the late FEDEX's, video premieres missing TRTs...I'm sure there's more.
but anyway, may your even temperament be appreciated by your future employers!-- Michal
Your hard work, warm smile, and great attitude are irreplaceable.
Best Wishes,
Matt
Kathryn-
There are some occasions which require us to reach back into the past and draw upon the immortal lyrics of the Grammy and Oscar award-winning musical artist, Carly Simon, to express what we're feeling:
Nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Baby, you're the best
(Since, sadly, I'm unable to attend the send-off festivities, I've asked Matt to lead the group in a karaoke chorus of said lyrics).
Seriously, it was a pleasure and a privilege working with you. You define "cool under pressure!" Good luck to you and your husband in DC, and be sure to stay in touch!
Best,
Michael
Few patrol the terrain we call The Grid better than Kathryn. The scheduling team is wearing "Ms. Binovi, a DC-NY Commute is doable" t-shirts. Outsourced banshees will be yelling Noooo! once your flight exits the Bay Area.

Kathryn, thanks for always being there when our faithfully cranky Thursday viewer (who shall remain nameless) complained about the Zogby transmission... and the late Zogby guest... and the Zogby repeat... and the dreaded Zogby time change! You tackled each Thursday question with infinite patience, masterfully zen about all that was in (but mostly out) of your control. I think that attitude will serve you well in D.C. and in LIFE.
Best wishes!

Kathryn, although we've never met i just want to say that since i've been at Link, working with you virtually (over the phone and email:) has been nothing short of wonderful. Thank you for being so dependable and calm (because i know that we've called you from New York many a time sounding frantic and crazy, as most people in New York are :)... and you've always been able to temper our craziness!
I wish you all the best in DC, but I just have to put it out there: NYC is way cooler than DC! so you should come visit us asap! :)

Kathryn,
I don't know what we will ever do without your calm and professional demeanor. You keep us all grounded in this hectic, high-flying work environment. You will definitely be missed and I hope that whoever replaces you is even half as good at catching all of my mistakes!!
Best of luck and let us know how it all turns out!

I'm sure we will find a new broadcast manager soon but replace Kathryn Binovi....never! Thank you so much for your calm presence, tireless efforts and dedication to making Link TV the best it can be. Oh, and thanks for reminding me to book Dateline! It's truly been a pleasure working with you. You will be missed!
Wishing you happiness and adventure in your new home,
heather
Can I come with you? Oh, just kidding. Best of luck to you and your's.
I think you witness my true feelings the last day we worked together...I just couldn't hold it in...I didn't want to go home...it was strange to know that that was the last time we would sit together in our office. I will miss so much. I have never worked with anyone that was as passionate, as hard working, and as caring as you. In my eyes you truly are one of a kind. Anyone would be so lucky to work by your side. I am so happy that I was one of the lucky few to have that honor. I am truly happy for you and wish you and your husband all the best.
Kathryn, thank you so much for all your guidance and patience. I've truly learned a lot from working with you (I literally have dozens of pages of notes!). Thank you for everything! I wish you and your husband the best in DC!

Dear Kathryn,
Where to begin? From the day you walked into Link TV, with your blue interview suit on and eager smile..I knew that you were the one... especially after you said you would do ANYTHING to get the job :)
I could not have asked for a better assistant, associate .. and inspiration.
You've got it all..smarts, grace and determination. I mean, you went from selling movie tickets to managing your own department in only a few short years!!
I can only imagine the great things that lie ahead for you.
Wishing you all the best,
Merin
Dear Kathryn,
When grace and goodness are in short supply, we know where to find it in abundance: where ever you reside. Thank you for all that you have given to Link and to all of us who worked with you.
May the next part of your journey in Washington DC bring you much fulfillment.
Fondly,
Wendy
