Toast 8 Includes TiVo ToGo

Roxio just announced the new version of Toast, their disc burning software. TiVo has collaborated with them to offer the Mac version of TiVo ToGo. The new Toast also includes support for burning Blu-ray media (these are just data discs, not Blu-ray movies in high-def.)

TiVo ToGo allows your Macintosh computer to access the shows on your TiVo over your home network. You copy your tv shows over to your Mac, and then you can burn them to DVD or encode them for your iPod. Pretty nifty.

While Windows users have been able to get a basic version of TiVo ToGo for free, Toast 8 costs $99. A freeware program is also available that allows your Mac to access your TiVo, called TiVoDecode Manager. I'm guessing that Toast is more reliable and much-more user-friendly. One advantage I could see with TiVoDecode Manager is that you aren't stuck with the file export options that Toast leaves you with.

Here are some screenshots at Wired of how Toast works with TiVo.
